Leadership Scholars :
This Leadership Seminar was designed to prepare young professionals for administration of nonprofit organizations.
The course consisted of weekly journaling, class dicussion, and guest speakers. Course objectives included:- To understand what it takes
to be a leader in the nonprofit sector
- To develop an understanding of
soft & hard workplace skills
- To provide practical experience and application
for nonprofit job market
- To review the many types of nonprofit jobs available
to college graduates

Youth for HOPE Campaign, Washington, D.C., 10-2003/2-2004

Selected to participate in National program which included intensive, interactive group training on peer HIV prevention.
Utilized skills from training to develop prevention activites in Denver, CO, including:
- Created HIV Peer Education Network (HPEN), an orgnaization of youth educators working to spread awareness about HIV and
AIDS in the Denver community. HPEN published newsletters, presented at schools and other youth groups, and provided referrals
and resources for HIV/STI testing and counseling
- Published a monthly newsletter for HIV positive youth
- Built partnerships with youth-serving organizations to incorporate HIV testing, education, and counseling resources into
their services.
